As the Director for
the Center for Multicultural Affairs, and on behalf of the staff here
at Thompson Hall, I would like to invite you to visit the center and become
involved in our many clubs and programs. I have been involved in Student
Affairs for seven years. I have worked with several institutions to help
them achieve their goals of unity, diversity and multiculturalism. I proudly
joined SUNY Fredonia in June 2004 and will use my experience and knowledge
to make SUNY Fredonia a more diverse and tolerant community.
The staff here at
the center has built a place where students can foster their own potential
as leaders, learners, and participants. By providing a space for all students
to thrive, we have helped to facilitate a teamwork approach to leadership.
Various activities, events, and programs have further empowered students
to form alliances with people from all backgrounds. For every student
whose eyes are opened here, I see further proof of the major role we play
in providing a complete education for the future citizens of this country.

Hi, my name is Travis Moore and I am the new graduate assistant in the CMA. I received my undergraduate degree from SUNY Potsdam in Music and English. After graduating, I took a 5 week intensive certification course in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) sponsored by Educational Services International in Pasadena California. After receiving TEFL certification, I went to Uzbekistan for one academic year, and Morocco for another. I am here to continue my education by getting my Masters degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and am thrilled to have this opportunity to work in the CMA. I am married and my first baby is due this October.

My name is Kate and I am very excited to be working with the new intern for the Multi-Cultural Affairs Office. I attended Daemen College, where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with a minor in Art History. I am currently attending Canisius College for an M.S. in College Student Personnel Administration. I was previously a Hall Director and Orientation & Leadership Development Intern for Daemen College. I currently work for the Office of Student Involvement at Medaille College, where I also assist in teaching a leadership class. I will be working on evaluation and assessment for the Multi-Cultural Affairs Office. I hope to get students more involved with this office and make the most of this year. |
